M. Peethambaran Master is a Gandhian activist, Sarvodaya leader, teacher, author and orator. He was awarded the National Teacher Award of 2013 for his overall contribution in education and social service, receiving it from the Honorable President of India, Sri. Pranab Mukherjee, on September 5, 2014.
Born on March 26, 1963 in Thrissur District, he studied at Govt. LP School Puthur, Augustine Akkara High School Kuttanellur, St. Thomas College Thrissur, and N.S.S Training College Ottappalam. He taught from 1987 across multiple schools, rising to Headmaster at St. Thomas H.S.S Mayannur (2014) and St. Sebastians High School Mannagalam (2016), retiring in March 2019.
As Chairman of Sarvodaya Darshan, he has led people's movements against environmental pollution at Kainur and Laloor, championed public literacy and decentralized planning, and is presently spearheading the establishment of Puthur Zoological Park — Wildlife Conservation and Research Centre.
ജനനം: തൃശൂര് ജില്ലയിലെ പുത്തൂര് ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്തില്. മാതാവ് മഠത്തില് ശാരദമ്മ. പിതാവ് കാരപ്പുറത്ത് രാമന് നായര്. പുത്തൂര് ഗവ: എല്.പി. സ്കൂള്, കുട്ടനെല്ലൂര് അഗസ്റ്റിന് അക്കര ഹൈസ്കൂള്, തൃശൂര് സെന്റ്തോമാസ് കോളേജ്, ഒറ്റപ്പാലം എന്.എസ്.എസ് ട്രെയിനിങ്ങ് കോളേജ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില് പഠിച്ചു. കേരള സര്വ്വോദയമണ്ഡലം സംസ്ഥാന ജനറല് സെക്രട്ടറി, കുടുംബശ്രീ, സ്ത്രീപദവി പഠനം, സാക്ഷരതാ മിഷന് എന്നിവയുടെ റിസോഴ്സ് പേഴ്സണ്, സാമൂഹ്യശാസ്ത്ര കൗണ്സില്, വിദ്യാരംഗം കലാസാഹിത്യവേദി, ഗാന്ധിദര്ശന് എന്നിവയുടെ ജില്ലാ കണ്വീനര്, പുത്തൂര് ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്ത് ജനകീയാസൂത്രണസമിതി, കലാകേന്ദ്രം എന്നിവയുടെ കണ്വീനര്, മാതൃഭൂമി പ്രാദേശിക ലേഖകന്, കൈനൂര് സമരം, ലാലൂര് സമരം എന്നിവയുടെ സഹായസമിതി ജനറല് കണ്വീനര്, കുട്ടനെല്ലൂര് മദ്യവിരുദ്ധസമിതി രക്ഷാധികാരി, വിദ്യാര്ത്ഥി-യുവജനസംഘടനാ ജില്ലാ-സംസ്ഥാനഭാരവാഹി, കോളേജ് യൂണിയന് കൗണ്സിലര്, കേരളഗ്രന്ഥശാലസംഘം ജില്ലാ ഉപദേശകസമിതി അംഗം, സര്വ്വോദയ ട്രസ്റ്റ് ചെയര്മാന്, നെഹ്രു യുവക് കേന്ദ്ര ജില്ലാ ഉപദേശക സമിതി അംഗം, സംസ്കാര വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ ഗവേഷണകേന്ദ്രം ഡയറക്ടര് എന്നീ ചുമതലകള് വഹിച്ചു. മായന്നൂര് സെന്റ് തോമസ് ഹയര് സെക്കന്ററി സ്കൂള്, മാന്ദാമംഗലം സെന്റ് സെബാസ്റ്റിയന്സ് ഹൈസ്കൂള് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില് പ്രധാന അദ്ധ്യാപകനായിരുന്നു. 2019 മാര്ച്ചില് ഔദ്യോഗിക സേവനത്തില്നിന്ന് വിരമിച്ചു. സര്വ്വോദയ ദര്ശന്റെ ചെയര്മാനും ഫ്രണ്ട്സ് ഓഫ് സൂ സെക്രട്ടറിയുമാണ്.
